Garlic/Soy Sauce Tuna

So I’ve never been much for frozen fish.  I don’t know why, because I love fish and it’s far more affordable (and easy to deal with when you can cook it later in the week), but it’s just always been a little disappointing.  However, we recently discovered Trader Joe’s frozen fish, and it’s really quite good!  These tuna steaks were our second try, and we were happy.  I marinated the tuna for about 45 minutes because I ran out of time, but I imagine it would be great if it went longer.  We served this with lightened spicy Asian noodles and roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower.

  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 2 tuna steaks
  • 1 lemon, cut in wedges

In medium bowl, combine oil, garlic, soy sauce, mustard, lemon juice and pepper. Rinse fish under cold water and pat dry.  Place fish in a shallow bowl and cover with marinade; refrigerate for 1 hour.

Place tuna on non-stick grilling pan (or on a regular grill) and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side.

This was pretty WW-friendly at 6 points a serving.  With the noodles (using shirataki noodles) and veggies, the meal came to 8 points.  The marinade might also be worth trying on any other sturdy fish.
