So this isn’t really a recipe, but it was a pretty cute dinner project that was a hit with the kids.  You could use homemade pizza crust and sauce, and if it hadn’t been a weeknight dinner, I probably would have (and you could get really original with it that way, too). But it was still pretty good with store bought both.  You will need a springform pan for this.  This might also be a fun appetizer at a small party.

• Your favorite pizza dough recipe (or a 2-3 cans of store bought dough)
• 2 cups pizza sauce
• 1 bag of shredded mozzarella
• sliced pepperoni, and any other toppings you like

Preheat oven to 400.

Roll out the pizza dough, and using the bottom of your springform pan, cut out 3 rounds.  Place them on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 5-8 minutes.  Cut a strip wide enough to cover the outside of the pizza cake, with an additional inch to hang over the edge of the springform pan.

Line the pan with parchment paper, then line pan with dough and place one round in the bottom.  Spread sauce over the crust, then cheese, then pepperoni.  Add another round, then repeat until you reach the top.  Roll the overhang edge to form a crust, and place more sauce, cheese and pepperoni on top.

Bake 25-30 minutes, then remove from oven and cool in pan for 10 minutes.  Cut slices as you would a cake.
